GROUP CLAY CAMP I
This class will focus on the students collaboratively and collectively building a large-scaled clay head. As a group, we will begin planning the sculpture by sketching the identity of the form, and spend the week building their creation. When the form is built, we will investigate and further the narrative of the individual by surfacing the head with color. This class intends to introduce the materiality and process of clay as well as create a fun and friendly dialogue among participants.

CLAY CAMP
This is the camp for the budding clay artist. If your little one is ready to graduate from playing in the mud to playing with clay, then look no further. Hand building skills from preparing the clay to slab building, coiling, and the wheel, will be explored before we glaze and fire our masterpieces to share with family and friends.

MOSAIC WORKSHOP
Mosaic is a form of art that is fun, easy and beautiful. Using small pieces that are arranged to create exciting and beautiful art work, we will use glass beads, tiles, stones, and handmade clay pieces. Join us as Master Mosaicist Helen Helwig teaches how small pieces of tile, stones, beads and clay can be arranged to create a new permanent vision.

‘HERE THERE BE DINOSAURS’ IMPACT ART
From research and design, to construction and finish, the world of dinosaurs will be in your creative hands! Artist and educator; Alan Kuykendall will load students on an innovative journey of sculpture and imagination centered on the lost world of dinosaurs. Students will also collaborate on a unique full size stegosaurus sculpture. Blending science and this camp experience has something for all!

ANYTHING GOES ART CAMP
It’s summer fun time again and there’s a world of engaging activities in store at the Art Center! Campers will have a week full of fun to stimulate mind and body with arts and crafts, dancing and the great outdoors. We will exhibit our masterpieces at the end of the week for family and friends.

ALL KINDZ OF ART
South Carolina educator and former Teacher of the Year, Debi Slone, brings her talents to you in a fun-filled hands-on week of creative exploration! From 2D to 3D, campers will dive into the world of art culminating in an exhibition for family and friends at the end of the week. This is a camp you will not want to miss!

NATURE THROUGH ART
Nature provides endless possibilities for subject matter and narrative. In this class, students will learn how to illustrate natural elements through botanical & entomology studies, still life, and landscapes. Working primarily on heavyweight watercolor paper and using a combination of mediums including graphite, colored pencil, watercolor and acrylic paint, students will learn techniques that bring life to their art! All levels of experience and ability are welcome. Drawing experience is recommended. Beginners are welcome.

CREATURE FEATURE ORIGINAL MASK MAKING
Learn the art of sculpture with Professional Monster Maker Brian Colin! Using a special sculpting material, and a lot of imagination, campers will bring their inner monster to life in masks. Whether you’re goofy or scary, this creative camp is for you!

ACRYLIC POURING
Take your painting to a new level with this ‘action painting’ workshop that goes beyond the brush. Awesome new techniques like the dirty pour, flip cup, and more, will help you create dynamic new vision. Skills in 2D design and color theory will provide the framework for a whole new world of abstraction.

CRAZY CLAY CAMP
Guest Artist, Kimberly Riner invites aspiring campers to come experience what it is like to become a crazy clay artist! This camp will get your hands dirty wedging, pinching, slab building, and coiling. Painting and some glazing and firing will add color and finish to the beautiful works created in this fun camp experience. A special display of works will be exhibited on the last day of camp.
