FASHION DESIGN & COSTUME MAKING CAMP
Are you a budding costume or fashion designer looking for the newest ways to have fun with color, style and pattern while also learning the skills to create an exciting, personalized collection? In this course, our summer “fashionistas” will work on a number of fun projects designed to teach them about the rise of technology in the costume and fashion industry, as well as the timeless fun of making handmade creations. A great emphasis is placed on working together as a design team, encouraging each other, and sharing ideas and suggestions throughout the design process. Campers gain a wonderful insight into the industry, and of course, have tons of fun doing what they love!

KID FRIENDLY KITCHEN – TINY CHEFS: BASIC PASTY
It’s not just fun- it’s delicious too! Throughout the camp week, beginning with the basics of kitchen safety, your camper will participate in hands-on pastry classes in the Center for the Arts kitchens–all while using real recipes easy enough to duplicate with the family at home. We also cover nutrition, ingredient information, and food safety!

PLAYGROUND ART IN THE PARK
We are bringing art to your neighborhood. Daily art projects will be offered in weekly increment at your Local Park, picnic shelter, or pavilion. These fun activities will be engaging and stimulate creativity. Parents are encouraged to help provide assistance during the daily activities. Please contact Israel Shasanmi in advance if you plan on brining a large group so that we can be prepared to accommodate you.

LET’S GET COOKIN – INTERMEDIATE PASTRY
Are you ready to go beyond basic baking? Beginning with the basics of kitchen safety, your camper will participate in intermediate level hands-on pastry classes in the Center for the Arts kitchens–all while using real recipes easy enough to duplicate with the family at home. Nutrition, ingredient information, and food safety round out a week of delicious fun!

CREATIVE WRITING SUMMER CAMP
This immersive camp will explore a variety of written forms from Novel to short story, poetry, and memoir. Visiting authors will join us and share exercises that will help novice writers communicate clearly and creatively. Write using all the senses, compose topics, or craft a dramatic script, anything is possible in writing. Come learn from some of our best local authors and start writing your masterpiece.

SEWING CAMP
Sewing Camp is designed specifically for kids (ages 8-12) who are new to sewing or have limited sewing experience. In this camp, students will learn to use a sewing machine and make multiple projects that they can show off to friends and family while learning the basics of sewing, hand embroidery, and more! They will come away from this camp having learned a useful life-skill and have a blast doing it!
