Tombstone
Many of us have fond memories of TV series like “Gunsmoke”, or “The Lone Ranger”, and afternoons spent running around in the yard pretending to be Wyatt Earp, Doc Holliday or Miss Kitty. We reenacted exciting stories of the Wild West, where brave frontiersmen and women carved out rugged lives, and defended the honest townsfolk from danger! If this sounds like you, then ‘Tombstone’ is the show you must be a part of! Originally produced in 1991 on Broadway this dark satire examines the lives of famous cowboys and Sheriffs who were a part of seminal events in wild west history, like the gunfight at the OK Corral; but with a modern twist. A story often turns on the storyteller and finally in ‘Tombstone’ it is the brave women who have their say as Matty Blaylock, Wyatt Earp’s first wife, and Josie his mistress, and Katie Elder, Doc Holiday’s seductress, tell the story from their unique perspectives. Maybe you’re a Clanton or a McLowery, a saucy saloon girl, or the mysterious accordion player with the dark secrets, but whoever you dream of being there’s a place in the Old West town of ‘Tombstone’ for you!

This summer the Teen Theater will be performing, Thoroughly Modern Millie, as their summer musical. The setting is1922, when a small-town girl Millie Dillmount arrives in New York City, ready to make her dreams come true. Millie’s plan is simple: find a job as a secretary for an eligible bachelor, and then marry him. It doesn’t take long, however, for Millie’s “thoroughly modern” plan to go awry. Her conniving landlady plots to kidnap Millie’s best friend and sell her into slavery in Hong Kong, her wealthy boss seems entirely uninterested in her flirtations, and — worst of all — the man with whom she falls head over heels in love doesn’t have a penny to his name.
The musical has 4 male leading roles and 5 female leading roles and a large ensemble to fill out the rest of the cast.
