Hand building skills from preparing the clay to slab building, coiling, and the wheel, will be explored before we glaze and fire our masterpieces to share with family and friends.

Is it trash or is it treasure? In a world overwhelmed with disposable things, what can you do to take some of that waste and put it to good use? This camp will explore the ways we can reduce waste, find new uses for things, and have fun saving the planet! A display of works will be shown to family and friends at the end of the week.

INSPIRED BY NATURE ART CAMP

Using the natural world as our inspiration, this camp will explore art through the printmaking technique of the collagraph that creates imagery from texture, as well as, sculpture. Campers will use all that nature offers us through color, texture, and form to create beautiful works of art. A public display of works will be featured on the last day of camp for family and friends.

DOLL HOUSE

Junior architects here’s your chance to build your own structure to house your imagination! From drawings and plans you will build a model house, barn, or shelter using card board, paper, and wood. DREAM CATCHERS

The Native American tradition of the dream catcher is our subject as we learn the traditional weaving technique for the outer structure and inner web, as well as, more abstract approaches to make your catcher special! Sweet dreams! Works will be on display at the end of the week.

PRINT POWER

Before Xerox, before the laser jet, there was the hand operated printing press and a world of techniques to explore in multiple image making. Students will explore the art of printmaking through various techniques achieving dynamic, interesting, and sometimes unexpected results. An excellent primer for the budding artist. Guest Artist, Kimberly Riner invites aspiring campers to come experience what it is like to become a crazy clay artist! This camp will get your hands dirty wedging, pinching, slab building, and coiling your way to fantastic clay creations.
