BLOOD BROTHERS

This summer the Teen Theater will be performing, Blood Brothers, as their summer musical. The musical, written by Willy Russell, won the Laurence Olivier Award for Best New Musical in 1988 and later won a Tony Award in 1993. The musical is a haunting rags to riches tragedy of our times. A woman with numerous children to support surrenders one of her new born twins to the childless woman she cleans for. The boys grow up streets apart, never learning the truth but becoming firm friends and falling in love with the same girl. One prospers while the other falls on hard times. A narrator warns that a price has to be paid for separating twins: the lives of the blood brothers. The musical has 5 Male leading roles and 3 Female Leading roles and multiple roles in the chorus.

 

 

 

 

New Video Production Class

Learn how to create your own film productions for the big screen. This class teaches the creative method of making a movie. You will learn everything from lighting to writing. Final project will be a group short film that reflects your skill and imagination.

New Creative Drama

This program is a great way to introduce young children to the world of theatre. Young actors will learn how to use their imagination and the art of pantomime as they learn the very basic skills of drama. Voice, body and mind will be the tools we use in class. Whether their personality is outgoing or reserved, young actors will find success in this class. Our friendly instructor will use games, storytelling, improvisation, puppetry, singing and movement in a safe class environment. Our focus will be to improve confidence, concentration, cooperation and to have a lot of FUN. The semester will conclude with a presentation of class work for family and friends.

Acting Up Theater Class

This class is designed for elementary students wanting to explore the fun of live theatre. Classes include theatre exercises & improvisational games to develop verbal & motor skills. Each class will focus on scene study, ending with a performance or selected scenes from a play. This class introduces students to performing on stage in front of an audience. Contact us about our home school group that meets in the morning.

Acting Up Theater Class
(Home Schools Students)

This class is designed like the after-school program. Students will go through the same exercises and end the semester with a stage performance or selected scenes from a play.

New Junior Company Acting Class

Pre-Teens take this opportunity to be part of a more advanced study of classical and contemporary drama with an introduction to some of the greatest playwrights. Subjects will include improvisation, scene study, stage movement, audition preparation & more.

Teen Improv (Comedy) Workshop

Taught by owner and professional comedian, Tommy Futch of “Laughing Matters,” this special class is an introduction to improvisational acting and the skills you need to begin the study of both long and short form improv comedy. Concepts include warm up, trust, the principles of agreement, and group mind. This workshop provides a broad overview into these ideas and illustrates how to implement them on stage.
