Theatre Classes

New Creative Drama
Participants will experience all things creative by using their imaginations to become animals, trees, musical instruments, tornadoes, fairy princesses and super heroes. Class will explore the theatrical principles of spoken voice, staging and body positions while onstage, the use of props, storytelling, singing, dancing, simple costume creation and makeup application that will culminate into an original play that the students and instructor will write together. Each child will become their favorite princess or super hero in our final production that will be presented to family and friends.

Acting Up Theater Class
This class is designed for elementary students wanting to explore the fun of live theatre. Classes include theatre exercises & improvisational games to develop verbal & motor skills. Each class will focus on scene study, ending with a performance or selected scenes from a play. This class introduces students to performing on stage in front of an audience.

New Junior Company Acting Class
Pre-Teens take this opportunity to be part of a more advanced study of classical and contemporary drama with an introduction to some of the greatest playwrights. Subjects will include improvisation, scene study, stage movement, audition preparation & more.

New Teen Improv (Comedy) Workshop
Taught by owner and professional comedian, Tommy Futch of “Laughing Matters,” this special workshop is for actors who enjoy learning about improvisation. Concepts include warm up, trust, the principles of agreement, and group mind. This course provides a broad overview into these ideas and illustrates how to implement them on stage.
