PLAYGROUND ART IN THE PARK

We are bringing art to your neighborhood. Daily art projects will be offered for one week in the park at the picnic shelter or pavilion. These fun activities will be engaging and stimulate creativity. We do ask for parents to help provide assistance during the daily activities. We discourage large groups participating unless you contact Tim Chapman in advance at the Cultural Arts Center.

CREATIVE WRITING SUMMER CAMP

This is not your typical creative writing experience. Aspiring authors get to choose their area of concentration – novel, short story/sketch, poetry, autobiography/memoir, or drama. Campers will work on use of language to communicate clearly. Visiting writers will come throughout the week to share and do exercises with campers such as writing using all the senses and learning about how to write song lyrics. Come learn from some of our best local authors.

SUMMER IMPACT MOSAIC CAMP

This camp has become a tradition each summer. This year campers will learn the art of mosaics. We will use various techniques to create mixed media mosaics. Our mosaic masterpieces will be on top of concrete benches. The benches will be placed at various locations in our community. Art and design elements and principles will be taught. In addition, to giving back to the community, campers will create their own small mosaic. Help us make an impact in our community and learn some new great skills along the way.
